Add Bookmarks with the Tegrity iPhone app!

Continuing the focus on improving student workflow, Tegrity Bookmarks allow students to “set” bookmarks during class by clicking a single key on their iPods, iPhones, browser enabled cell phones or regular browsers. Students can easily notate “action items” to review specific points where the professor was unclear or the information provided seemed critical for a test. Later, when reviewing classes with Tegrity Campus, the student can easily navigate to these bookmarks, check them off after review and set new ones. Instructors, on the other hand, can easily set bookmarks for the entire class to highlight key points for a test, for example.

Set Tegrity Bookmarks to increase study efficiency - here's how:

• Log In:

Connect with Facebook
Click the ‘Sign in to Tegrity with Facebook’ button to sign in.  Since we use Facebook to verify who you are, you’ll need to have a Facebook account.

Log in to Tegrity
After you've set up your Facebook account, simply type in your user name and password in the Authentication screen.

Enter your institution

Institution Website – Enter the URL of the main website of your institution, such as ‘www.colorado.edu’, so that we can locate your class recordings.

Institution User Name – Enter the user name you use to login to your institution’s course management system.

Note: If you do not know your institution’s website or if the system does not recognize it, you can still associate your Tegrity account with Facebook from the Tegrity website.  Just login to your Tegrity account as you normally would, (typically using your institution’s course management system), then click the ‘Connect with Facebook’ button in the Settings page.  You will skip this screen the next time you login with the iPhone app.  again to start adding bookmarks, just logout and login.

Verify your login
Verify that you are the user identified when Tegrity matched the information you entered with your institution.

Type in your user name and password

Institution User Name – Enter the user name you use to login to your institution’s course management system.

Institution User Password – Enter the password you use to login to your institution’s course management system.

You may be asked to enter your password, depending on the security policy of your institution.  This user name and password is usually the same as the one you use with your institution.

Create new Bookmarks while in class

Tegrity Bookmarks make it easy to ‘bookmark’ important parts of the lecture so that you can easily review them later.  You can mark parts of the lecture that are unclear or important (e.g. ‘this will be on the test’) and you can even add your own comments.  Tegrity will automatically place your Bookmarks in the right spot of the class recording.  You can even share your Bookmarks with other people from the website.

Unclear – Use Unclear bookmarks to mark parts of the lecture that you are unclear about and you want to review again later.

Important! – Use Important! bookmarks to mark parts of the lecture that are important (e.g. ‘this will be on the test’).  Then you can easily find the parts of the class you need to review when studying for a test.

Comment – Use Comment bookmarks to add your own comments.  It makes it easy to remember what you were thinking in class when you go back later to study.

Note:  Click on the arrow icon to add your own comments to any of the Bookmarks including Unclear and Important! Bookmarks.

View a list of Bookmarks that have not yet been uploaded

You can see which Bookmarks are pending upload to the website on this screen.  All of your Bookmarks have been uploaded if there are no Bookmarks listed here.

Your Bookmarks are automatically uploaded to the website in real-time whenever you have a network connection.  There are some locations (such as basements), however, where the network is not available.  In that case, your Bookmarks will be stored and then automatically uploaded when the network is available again.

Change your account settings
You can review and change your Institution and Facebook account settings on this screen.  These screens are the same as the one-time setup.  See Connecting your Facebook account to Tegrity (one-time setup) for more information.
