Winners of Lecture Capture Innovation Awards Highlight Exemplary Technology Vision, Leadership and Positive Impact on Student Achievement
SANTA CLARA, CA – July 7, 2009 – Tegrity, provider of the leading class capture Web service for higher education, is celebrating another successful Tegrity User Conference. This annual event draws provosts, administrators, IT professionals, and faculty from leading U.S. colleges and universities to share best practices and obtain first-hand training on the most advanced lecture capture technology available, and was held on June 10-12, 2009 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.
Institutions across the country participated in more than 30 Tegrity and customer presentations, best practice sessions, research roundtables and demos of new July update features. An industry panel centered on “How to Capitalize on Stimulus Funding” featured industry experts from Datamonitor, University Business Magazine and the Digital Center for Education. Other sessions focused on maximizing the ROI of lecture capture, quantifying Tegrity’s impact on student achievement and newly-announced features that include an iPhone application and bookmarking capabilities. Tegrity’s ultimate objective: Enabling every student to enhance his or her academic performance with the help of Tegrity’s award-winning lecture capture service.

The winners of the 2009Tegrity Innovation Awards include:
• Dr. Jeffrey Highland, representing St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, received the prestigious President’s Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership and advancement of the student-centered vision of St. Mary’s, which reported 6,307 new faculty recordings over the past year, close to 40,000 student views and over 10,000 student viewing hours.
• Dr. Sadie Gregory of Coppin State University, recipient of the Provost Award, for her contributions in advocating Tegrity lecture capture adoption campus-wide at an institution that has demonstrated exceptional usage during the 2008-2009 academic year.
• Mike Gibson of Athens State University was selected to receive the Customer Champion Award consistently presenting the “voice of the customer” throughout the previous year, contributing his time and expertise to influence and enhance the quality of Tegrity offerings.
• Dallas Community College District (DCCD) was selected to receive the Shared Vision Award, which is presented annually to the institution achieving the widest expansion during the previous academic year, deploying across 7 campuses.
• University of Louisville was selected for the Rapid Response Award, awarded annually to the customer that has implemented Tegrity, trained their faculty and made them fully operational in the shortest period of time during the previous academic year.
• University of Central Florida, logging 76,323 hours of student viewing hours, earned the Student Achievement Award, presented annually to the Tegrity client that demonstrates outstanding success by recording the highest total volume of student views during the previous year.
• University of Alabama was honored with the Outcomes Assessment Award for demonstrating through firsthand research Tegrity’s proven, quantified impact on student outcomes during the previous academic year, with 84% of students surveyed reporting that Tegrity positively impacted their learning and 61% of students reporting grade improvement.
• Fordham University Law School was selected to receive the Innovator’s Award, which recognizes an institution that has been a catalyst for positive change on campus by finding innovative new uses for Tegrity on campus.
