Scalability, affordability, ease-of-use drive campus-wide deployment

SANTA CLARA, CA – September 10, 2009 – Tegrity, provider of Tegrity Campus, the leading class capture web service for higher education today announced that it has recently been selected for campus-wide deployment at several large higher education institutions - further solidifying its position as the most pervasive lecture capture service in North America. In the last two years alone, Tegrity has accumulated over 10 million student reviews in hundreds of institutions.

After an exhaustive two year evaluation process, the University of Texas - Pan American (UTPA) selected Tegrity Campus for campus-wide deployment to its 17,534 students. With the highest number and percentage of Hispanic students (86.3%) among Texas public universities, UTPA is the 10th largest university in the state.

At UTPA, students matriculate in 54 bachelor’s degree and 50 master’s degree programs, 2 doctoral and one cooperative doctoral pharmacy program, in 32 different states across the U.S. The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education lists UTPA among its top 100 best U.S. colleges for Hispanics. “I am excited that we will be implementing the Tegrity system. We have already had many positive responses to its anticipated rollout and we are sure that we can add to Tegrity’s already excellent record of increased student achievement and retention”, said Paul Sale, Provost of University of Texas Pan American.

Columbus State University in Georgia also chose Tegrity Campus 2.0 over competing solutions for campus-wide deployment in order to enhance the achievement of its 7,000 students, extend its distance learning curriculum and improve its student retention rates. “Our goal is to equip our students with the best technology resources in order to help them succeed academically. We believe that students appreciate the investment we’re making in providing them with a strong lecture capture solution that helps them study more efficiently and learn more effectively”, said Timothy Mescon, President of Columbus State University, Georgia.

The scalability and affordability of the Tegrity Campus service makes it ideal for large universities and university systems. Tegrity campus-wide pricing allows systems to leverage the combined buying power of its institutions, and promotes wide deployment, cost-effectively bringing the benefits of Tegrity to the entire student population. One such example is the University of Missouri, which recently signed a master agreement with Tegrity. The agreement has facilitated deployments of Tegrity campus-wide at a number of institutions within the system, including the University of Missouri – Columbia and the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

With 29,000 students, 19 schools, 270 degree programs and 40 online programs, the University of Missouri – Columbia (UMC) is a world-class research institution and the largest campus within the University of Missouri system. Despite only being in place for one semester, Tegrity has already made a big impact on Mizzou’s student experience. “With Tegrity, you can easily make the in-class experience available 24/7 in multiple formats for multiple audiences”, said Dr. Danna Vessel, Director of Educational Technologies at Missouri. “There has been tremendous faculty interest in and acceptance of Tegrity at Mizzou because it allows content capture from any classroom or location without the need for special equipment or processing. Instructors are amazed at how easy it is to use, and it allows them to do what they do best – focus on the teaching and learning going on in their class rather than the technology”.

The University of Missouri - Kansas City, with 15,000 students, started using Tegrity in a select number of classrooms in the fall of 2007 and has expanded its use of the service each successive semester. The University of Missouri - Kansas City will soon deploy Tegrity campus-wide in order to give every student the opportunity to improve their academic performance, which will in turn enable the university to achieve greater retention rates.
